[Q&A] The Call of Source: Seek & Ye Shall Find

QUESTION: “Hey Jessie (and IB too)! Loving your posts so keep it up! I liked the quotes the other day too. One of your quotes I saw the other day said something about “there is no guidance wiser than your Source”. Well I wanted you to talk about that? Like by Source were you talking about something like God or a higher “me”?

And you said “you do have to use it”, so I was wondering if you’re referring to things like prayer or meditation? I’ve tried meditating but I always seem to have a problem just “being still” so does that affect my ability to use it? And I think I already pretty much know the answer but I’d like to see what you say about why you stress that Source guidance is wiser than anything else. Ok that’s enough to get you going right? In the last post, we discussed the nature and origin of what we call “Source energy”.  We likened it to the widely familiar concept of “God”, not for the religious connotations, but in that Source energy is the origin of all things, the place from which all things are possible and the place from which all things eventually manifest.  We talked about how you, as a part of this “everything that is” Source, are born with an eternal connection to this Source; and therefore, born with a sense of guidance, of wisdom, that is eternal, constant and always accurate, in any and all things, when it comes to your own most perfect wellbeing.

This time we’ll be talking about how to actually access, use and “hear” the divine guidance within you.  Some people call it instinct or intution.  Some call it that “quiet inner voice”, and still others give it names like “hunch”, “gut feeling” or the like.  Whatever the case, one thing is for certain; they are all talking about the same thing.  In a world of tangibility, of intellectualism, of logic and evidence and hard proven fact, Source guidance is that still, sweet voice that transcends the physical, goes beyond the logical and, in the midst of confusion and uncertainty will always be unflinchingly and unfailingly certain about one simple thing – that which is in alignment with your true, total and most joyful and abundant wellbeing.

So if we come into the world already possessing this impeccable guidance, how come so many of us find that we cannot hear it at all?  How come it seems like we have to dig down deep, past the noise of everyday living, to get to the heart of this divine connection and activate its guidance?  Why does it have to be so… so hard?  Especially in the times when our confusion is at its thickest, it seems to sometimes take an incredible amount of effort just to access something that sounds like it should be always ready, and immediately visible, at all times?

The truth is, activating the Source guidance with you is the absolute easiest thing in the world to do.  It is so easy, in fact, that you are doing it both constantly and automatically.  It takes far more effort to drown that voice out and can sometimes take years before it finally seems to vanish altogether – not that it ever does.  How is this accomplished?  It happens over time as a result of putting others’ advice, opinions and guidance ahead of your own.
